Chicken Wings Recipe With Sriracha and Honey

This chicken wings recipe with sriracha and honey are great appetizers for parties! These chicken wings are cooked with sauce made from sriracha and honey mixed in with other umami seasonings. It will be broiled until the chicken wings turns to a rich dark red color.

Whenever I make this recipe for our family gatherings they are always a big hit because they have the right combination of sweet and spicy. This recipe is inspired from the recipe that I found on Pinterest a long time ago. Over time, I made a few changes to match with my family’s sophisticated palate.

How To Make My Chicken Wings Recipe With Sriracha And Honey

1. Using a paper towel, pat the chicken wings to dry and place them in a big bowl. Then set aside.

2. In a small bowl, combine and mix together the lemon juice, soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, honey and lastly sriracha.

3. Next pour the sauce mixture over the chicken wings and add the 2 stalks of finely chopped green onions. Mix this all together until all of the chicken wings are well coated with sauce. Cover and put into the fridge for at least 30 minutes up to 12 hours maximum.

4. After marinating the chicken wings, pour the chicken wings together with the marinade in large deep skillet. Cover and bring to a boil, then let it simmer for about 20 minutes or until the chicken wings are cooked through.

5.  Take the chicken wings out using a slotted spoon or tongs and place on a baking tray lined with aluminum foil that is sprayed with oil. Then set aside.

6. Next, add the slurry (mixture of 2 tsp of cornstarch and 2 tsp of water) into the sauce and continue to cook for an additional 3 minutes until the sauce has thickened.

7. Turn off the heat on the stove and then turn on the oven to the low broil setting.

8. Using a basting brush, coat or baste the chicken wings with the thickened sauce. Then place the chicken into the oven and broil for about 5 to 7 minutes or until the color of the chicken wings turns into a rich dark red color.

9. Remove the wings from the oven, then coat the wings again with sauce and then transfer them on to a serving tray.

10. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and enjoy!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lb chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup sriracha sauce
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic peeled and minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 3 stalks green onions chopped
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tsp cold water
  • salt a pinch

Instructions

  • Next, add the slurry (mixture of 2 tsp of cornstarch and 2 tsp of cold water) into the sauce and continue to cook for an additional 3 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
  • Turn off the heat of the stove and then turn on the oven to a low broil setting.
  • Using a basting brush, coat or baste the wings with the thickened sauce. Then place the wings into the oven and broil for 5 to 7 minutes or until the chicken wings color turns to a rich dark red.
  • Remove the chicken from the oven. Then coat the chicken wings again with sauce and transfer them on to a serving tray.
  • Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and garnish with the remaining slices of green onions. Enjoy!
