My Healthy Canned Tuna Recipe With Chickpeas and an Asian Twist with chickpeas is an easy and yet very flavorful meal to prepare for breakfast. It is rich in fiber and rich in proteitn which makes it a healthy and a filling breakfast meal.
- 2 12 oz. can tuna in water
- 1 15 oz. can chickpeas
- 1/2 small red onion thinly sliced
- 3 gloves garlic minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp. Gochu Jang Hot and Sweet Chili Sauce Korean paste
- 1 tbsp. Hoisen Sauce
- 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- salt and pepper to taste
Heat oil in a pan. Add garlic, onion and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add chickpeas, season with a pinch of of salt and pepper. Stir fry for another 3 to 5 minutes.
Stir in the canned tuna along with Gochu Jang Hot and Sweet Chili Sauce, Hoisen sauce, Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice. Turn the heat to medium low and cook for another 8 to 10 minutes.
Remove the pan from heat and transfer to a serving plate. Best served with steamed rice and with fried egg.
