Easy Black Bean and Chickpea Burgers

  • 15 oz. can Black Beans drained, rinsed and patted dry
  • 15 oz. can Chickpeas drained, rinsed and patted dry
  • 1 whole red bell pepper sliced in big chunks
  • 1/2 whole red onion peeled and sliced in big chunks
  • 3 cloves garlic roughly minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp cumin
  • salt and pepper


  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Evenly spread black beans onto a parchment lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 15 minutes or until the beans have slightly dried out. Then set aside.
  • Pulse the oats in a food processor on high until it becomes the consistency of flour. Pour the blended oats into a big bowl.
  • Pulse the chickpeas in a food processor and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Pour the blended chickpeas in the same bowl with blended oats.
  • Repeat this step with black beans, chunks of red bell pepper, onions and garlic.
  • Add the remaining ingredients into the bowl. Mix all together until everything is incorporated.
  • Using a 1/3 measuring cup, scoop the mixture and place it on parchment lined baking sheet and press down lightly to form in a patty.
  • Baked at 375 degrees F. for 10 minutes, flip over and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  • Serve with your favorite burger toppings.
